Ambassador Marquardt Visits Development Projects in the Far North of Cameroon and Plants Trees to Commemorate Earth Day

Ambassador Marquardt visited the Far North Province of Cameroon from April 21 to 22, 2006.  During the Ambasssador’s trip, he visited the Food for Progress Micro Credit Project, in Mokolo; planted trees at Point Vert Primary School in Maroua on the occasion of Earth Day; and visited the Winrock Irrigation Pump Demonstration Site, in Maroua.

The goal of this trip was to foster private-sector economic growth, educate the public on environmental protection issues, and encourage solutions to sustainable development.
