U.S. Embassy organizes a Training seminar for Journalists in Garoua

The Public Affairs Section is organizing since Monday, January 30, 2006 a training seminar for journalists of the northern provinces of Cameroon.

This seminar, as declared by Daniel Whitman, the Public Affairs officer of the Embassy, is aimed at “helping Cameroonian journalists to familiarize with current issues like investigative journalism, access to all sources of information and to the use of Internet”.  Ethical issues, “Gombotism” and other problems particular to the profession in Cameroon were raised by the various distinguished speakers like Daniel Anicet Noah and  Bichahir Adjaili Boukar.

35 journalists of the public and private sector are attending this seminar that will end on Friday. February 3, 2006.
