The US Embassy HIV Task Force, EUSATAF, was born out of the vision of returned participants in HIV/AIDS and Health Education programs under the International Visitor Program, which is administered by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

It consists of volunteers from different NGOs, Foundations and government agencies, working on different aspects of HIV/AIDS.

EUSATAF is a forum for collaboration through which the Taskforce members share information on the national and global implications of HIV/AIDS.

Taskforce members contribute their different skills and experience in designing and implementing effective sensitization program, with emphasis on building partnerships that will contribute towards expanding and sustaining community action against HIV/AIDS.

Our Vision

  • To sensitize, educate and inform through open dialogue with the public;
  • To use integrative and participatory approaches that are innovative and geared towards identified populations in rural areas;
  • To ensure continuous Information , Education and Communication on HIV/AIDS among school children at all levels.

To attain its objectives, EUSATAF will operate within the guidelines of the National AIDS Control Committee, hence providing support to Cameroon government's efforts in the fight against AIDS.

Our Focus

Faced with the challenge of designing impact-driven programs, EUSATAF focuses on certain areas to ensure that programs are designed to work with and reach as many key people and groups as possible, especially those that have the most significant effect on the dynamics of this pandemic.

Our focus areas include:

  • Sensitization of school children at all levels through holiday workshops;
  • Sensitization and education of rural communities and traditional rulers through specially designed community programs;
  • Public awareness and information through seminars, teleconferences, radio programs and visits of American speakers.

EUSATAF Membership

The Taskforce is open to people working in Cameroon on any HIV/AIDS-related issues.

Members must be willing to attend meetings and participate in Taskforce activities and events.

The Taskforce supports and encourages members and their organizations in their HIV/AIDS programs and activities.

The US Embassy has at least one representative on the Taskforce. The Embassy will recognize active participants as members of the Taskforce.
