Ambassador Meets With College of Charleston Students
Ambassador Janet Garvey met March 5 with eight members of the College of Charleston’s Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) team along with their professor and trip coordinator. The students were in Cameroon as part of a weeklong effort titled “Technology to Africa,” during which they provided computers, internet access, and training to students in Foumban, Bangante, and Yaounde. The College of Charleston students raised the money for the trip and computers themselves through fundraising efforts held throughout the academic year and hope to maintain contact with their Cameroonian counterparts once they return to South Carolina through their new internet connections.
