Lost LPR-Green Cards
Lost or Stolen Legal Permanent Residence (LPR) Cards (Green Cards)
If a Legal Permanent Resident (LPR) experiences the loss, theft, or expiration of their LPR card while traveling in Cameroon, the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Yaounde may request permission from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to assist the individual in returning to the U.S. by providing a Boarding Authorization Letter. Boarding Authorization Letters are not guaranteed. Please note: if the individual has been out of the United States for over a year, they will not be entitled to a Boarding Authorization Letter.
Those meeting DHS qualifications and desiring assistance should come to the Consular Section during regular ACS hours with the following materials:
- Local police report/declaration of lost or stolen Legal Permanent Residence (Green Card).
- Alien registration number and other information from your Green Card.
- Two 2”x2” color photographs of yourself.
- $165 USD or FCFA equivalent.
- Passport and other official identification to ascertain your identity.
- Completed Lost/Stolen/Expired Green Card (I-551) Questionnaire. (PDF 15 KB)
- Completed I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card.
Fees: For services requiring a fee, payment may be made in US dollars or the equivalent in FCFA. We only accept U.S. currency printed within the last 10 years.
