Reports of Birth
A child born in Cameroon to a U.S. citizen parent may be entitled to U.S. citizenship. Applications for first-time passports are usually completed at the same time.

The Consular Section helps to process individual benefits claims and to resolve problems, investigate claims on behalf of the agency concerned, and perform other tasks as requested by the agencies and the Treasury Department or needed by the beneficiaries.
Estates
The Consular Section takes the responsibility for safeguarding the personal estates of U.S. citizens who die abroad if the deceased has no legal representative in Cameroon.
Property Claims
The Consular Section assists claimants by giving general information and providing a list of local attorneys in Cameroon.
Selective Service Registrations
The Section gives information on registration procedures and registers individuals. For more information visit the Selective Service Registration website.
Voting
The Consular Section provides voting information and assistance in completing the Federal Post Card Application, which may be used to register to vote and to request absentee ballots. The Section also provides Federal Write-In Absentee Ballots to persons who have applied for state ballots but do not receive them in time to be returned and counted. For links to websites and news releases related to voting, please see the Voter’s Information page.
Lost or Stolen Legal Permanent Resident Cards
United States permanent residents who have been out of the U.S. for less than a year and who experience the loss or theft of their Legal Permanent Resident Card (Green Card) while traveling in Cameroon may require assistance in obtaining proper documentation to return to the U.S. The Consular Section can facilitate this process.
