Procedure to Schedule a Non Immigrant Visa Appointment

What you need:

  • The barcode number from your printed electronic visa application form which can be found at http://www.evisaforms.state.gov
  • Your Internet browser must support 128-bit encryption.
  • If you are using Internet Explorer (Windows), the minimum version that will work with this site is version 5.0, with service pack 2.
  • If you are using Netscape, the minimum version that will work with this site is version 6.2.
  • A high quality printer to print your electronic application form and appointment confirmation

How to use the NIV Appointment System:

First you must complete and print an electronic visa application form which can be found at http://www.evisaforms.state.gov. Make sure that the third page barcode is printed clearly. If this barcode is not printed clearly, please print on a superior printer. If we are unable to scan the barcode on your form, we may not be able to accept your appointment and you will have to reschedule.

  1. Click on “Visas to the US”
  2. Click on link for appointments in the middle of the page
  3. Click on the "Schedule Appointment" button to select an available date and time for an appointment.
  4. Enter the 10-digit barcode number from the last page of your printed electronic visa  application form into the Barcode Number field, and then click "Submit".
  5. Select an available appointment date from the calendar.
  6. Select a preferred time for your appointment, and then enter your Surname, Given    Name, Telephone Number, Email Address, and Identification Code.
  7. Click on the “Submit” Button.
  8. Print the confirmation page and bring it to the Embassy on the date of your         scheduled appointment.
