AFRICOM Funds Humanitarian Assistance Projects in North and Far North regions
September 14, 2009 On September 14, members of the Defense Attaché Office of the U.S. Embassy in Cameroon traveled to Maroua and Garoua in the Far North and North regions of Cameroon for the inauguration and monitoring of eight Humanitarian Assistance projects.

Mills to Support Victims of Child Labor
June 2, 2009  U.S. Ambassador to Cameroon Janet Garvey inaugurated grain mills June 2 that will help victims of child labor in four villages in Ndikinimeki, Center region. The children were rescued from cocoa plantations in 2005, where they had been exploited as laborers.

USS Nashville Visits Cameroon
April 13, 2009  The USS Nashville departed Limbe April 13 after a nearly two-week stay in Cameroon. The ship visit was part of the United States’ Africa Partnership Station (APS) program and focused on maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea.

April 6, 2009 The U.S. Ambassador to Cameroon presented to the Ministry of Forests and Fauna 8 all terrain motor cycles and numerous VHF radio sets to increase Cameroon’s conservation efforts in the Campo Ma’an Park. The event took place in Campo on April 6, 2009.

February 25, 2009 On February 25 2009, the U.S. Ambassador to Cameroon, Janet Garvey traveled to Mfou in the Centre Region for the dedication of a primate enclosure in the Mefou National Park, a $ 45,000 USD project generously financed by the U.S Department of Defense.
