Ambassador’s Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene in Schools Initiative

Embassy officer Edward Gallagher inaugurated the Ambassador’s Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene in Schools Initiative project at Saint Andre Primary and Nursery School in Pouma (Littoral Region) on Monday, December 3, 2012.

The Embassy Branch Office Director Edward Gallagher  of the U.S Embassy in Douala inaugurated the Ambassador’s Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene in Schools Initiative project at Saint Andre Primary and Nursery School in Pouma (Littoral Region) on Monday, December 3, 2012.
The project provided the students of Saint Andre School and residents of the local communities in Pouma access to potable water and improved sanitation.
The Ambassador’s Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene in Schools Initiative (A-WASH) is a global effort to raise awareness on the importance of clean water, sanitation and hygiene. 
The U.S. Embassy in Cameroon funded the project, in partnership with Catholic Relief Services, Diocese of Edea, Global Water Challenge, H2O for Life, Millennium Water Alliance, and The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation.
