Case Status Check
The vast majority of visa cases are resolved the same day as the applicant’s interview with a consular officer. In some cases, though, we may request additional information or require additional work before we can complete your case. If this applies to you, then you can use your case number to check on your application below.
If you require your passport or other documentation, you may collect it from the Consular Section on any Tuesday at 1pm. Please keep in mind, though, that further work on your case may be suspended until you can return the documents to us.
We make updates to case status every Wednessday.
How to Check Your Case Status Online
Please click here (PDF - 552KB) and locate your case number to see the status of your case. You can find your unique case number on the letter given to you after your interview.
How to Read the Case Status
Pending Processing: Your case is undergoing administrative processing. We cannot provide an estimate to completion, but we will contact you when processing is completed.
Awaiting Information: We are waiting for information or documentation from you, and cannot take any further action on your case until it is received. If you are unsure what is still required, please contact consularyaounde@state.gov and provide your case number.
Please Contact Us: Please email consularyaounde@state.gov and provide your case number to receive further instructions on your case. Your case is on hold until you contact us.
Come to Collect Your Documents: Please come to the Embassy any Tuesday at 1pm (excluding Embassy holidays).
Visa Ready for Pickup: Your visa is ready! Please come to the Embassy any Thursday at 4pm (excluding Embassy holidays). As the visa is valid for a limited time, it is important you do this at the earliest opportunity.
